The second week of On The Edge is over! Time is flying by as students are busy with their classes, Ice Cream Extravaganza’s (I.C.E.), and dorm games/activities. We’ve hosted two conferences, Power of Purity and TruthFest, and are gearing up for Missions Week coming up July 13-19. So much has happened in the last two weeks, but the students and staff are keeping up with everything going on.
Junior counselor Hannah said, “This summer is harder than last, because the Lord is stretching me in new ways I didn’t expect. However, it’s neat to be a part of it all. I love being here at On The Edge.”
This summer, On The Edge has partnered up with Bible Bootcamp, a Student Venture outreach, where middle and high school students from the Murrieta area gather together during the summer to take classes about Christianity. For two weeks, the students have three Bible Bootcamp classes a day, alternating between books of the Bible and Christian living topics.
David, a second-year student, said, “Dressing up for all the I.C.E.’s is fun. My brother and I went as the same character last week, which was funny since we didn’t expect to match. Everyone gets really into the socials. They’re great!”
I.C.E.’s are get togethers where the students have a theme in which they dress up for, and a dorm challenge to prepare. So far, the students have dressed up like Superheroes and villains, and choreographed a synchronized swimming routine. I.C.E.’s are what students look forward to most.
Eli, wife of worship coordinator Chase, said, “I like how unified and full of love everyone is. You can tell that everyone truly loves the Lord by how they love each other.”
